WebLink allows online merchants to authorize, process, and manage credit card transactions without expensive or troublesome software or hardware. Using a shopping cart installed into the websites, customer shop online and add items to their cart. When they are ready to purchase, WebLink either captures the necessary information (name, credit card number, etc.) from the site's own secure transaction page or displays a standard WebLink transaction page, hosted on a server from the internet payment gateway company, for instance USAePay or Authorize.Net. The customer then fills in the payment form. When the form is completed, the data is then encrypted using 40 or 128 bit SSL technology and is then sent to the gateway company's transaction server where it is then sent through the authorization network to the appropriate card issuer's bank through a secure connection.

Once the authorization process is completed the customer receives an approval or decline response in about 3-6 seconds. The payment gateway server stores the transaction into the merchant's database for further review and record keeping purposes. The transactions are automatically settled each day and funded within 2-3 days to the merchant's bank account.
